Hi Everyone, great forums here.

Question, has anyone heard of a problem with ordering right now the Enclave with the Luxury Package? I was under teh impression my dealer ordered mine May 16th, (for delivery around mid-July) CXL AWD with every option except DVD and 8 pass. seating, and got an email last week saying he was getting ready to order it and they are not allowing any orders with the Lux package right now. Has anyone heard this, not sure if it is a supply issue. Now he is saying another 7-8 weeks.

There is apparently a supplier problem with the power tilt/telescoping steering column, limiting the rate at which Enclaves with the luxury package can be produced.

I can't help but wonder... with the reports of the power steering column not adjusting up enough for tall passengers and reports of the supplier having production "quantity" issues... could the two in any way be related? Are they pausing production to adjust the range of motion? Probably not... but just wondering.

I don't think it is related. I have emailed the Buick Product Manager for the Enclave a couple of times about the steering wheel not going high enough with the power option in the luxury package. He seems like a great guy and is very concerned about any Enclave issues. In his emails, he does imply that it should go higher and they are looking into correcting this but it will be later rather than sooner. Here is a copy and paste from his email to me dated 6/3/07:

"not just an easy fix however...it involves the way the column compresses in an accident and the angles used in airbag deployments ... etc I just got back in town and have started talking to engineering on the impacts to any changes and it does not sound like an easy thing to do...I'm sure that is why it was not already done. Not a good answer yet but let me do some more digging. THANKS"

My order with PCK Luxury package is arriving at the dealer the week of June 25 (the car has been since built). I ordered the first week of May. I believe they have limited production of the PCK option to only 25% of all orders right now.

We are running limited production on the Enclaves due to the differences between them and the other lambda cars. The enclave has so many more steps in its production that we are not able to run them more than every 3rd car on the line. If we run more than that the people in the plant are not able to keep up with the processes. I'm sure with time the engineers will find a way to fix some of the production problems and you will not have to wait so long for your new enclave.
Thx Muzzy, sounds like you got the inside scoop. So is it still possible to order with Luxury Package, or is my guy correct in that he con not?

Thx

If you read the forum you will find your dealer is game playing! Since he had not submitted the order near the time you did to Buick. The Luxury package is on constraint meaning they can not fill all the orders but they are still producing them as the product becomes available. Your dealer can give you a lot more information than you have. I have had mine on order since July 12 and my dealer showed me the status code as well as commenting that as of a week ago they had product available to build approx 150 with the Luxury package. I just don't know how far down I am. Hope this is helpful. Reading the forum is an education.

I hate to say it but I think your dealer is playing games with your order. If your order was placed on July 12 and properly handled by your dealer you should be driving your new Enclave. If you look under "August orders" on this forum you will see several people that placed orders with the Lux Pck from the first to middle of August that have build dates this coming week. My order was written up and placed on August 14 and even includes White Diamond paint. As of 9/13 it was at production code 3300 and scheduled for production next week. If all goes well with GM & the UAW I expect to have it aournd the first week of October.

You might want to go to your dealer and ask him to print you out a complete order history.

Hope you get some good news from your dealer.

I placed my order on June 18th...it included the PCK Luxury Package. I was told then that it would take about 12 to 14 weeks. According to the dealer, it was made around September 3, and should arrive (in Queens, NY) the week of September 24th...maybe sooner. I also understand that if ordered now, it could take up to 5 months if it includes the Luxury Package.
BUT...he also said that his allotment was 60 cars for the year! This is one of the reasons he is not cutting the price. I guess if he sells 60 Enclaves plus other Buicks and GMC's he's happy as a pig in mud.
