The brochure doesn't say that... but the description from edmunds.com did mention that... Can somebody clarify this...

Are you referring to voice activated navigation?

If so, it says it has it right in the brochure on the 2 pages titled "Intelligent" at the top.
:eek:hno:I already e-mailed Buick about this, and they said that it does NOT have the voice-command feature like on the Acadia and Outlook. To say the least, I was very unhappy about this. :sosad:
From the Buick website

"AM/FM stereo, Advanced Bose 10-speaker 5.1 Surround Sound DVD entertainment system and navigation system with backup camera and Voice Recognition, Radio Data System (RDS), speed-compensated volume and TheftLock, auxiliary audio jack which enables plug/play connection of all auxiliary audio players. DVD entertainment system includes 8" screen, rear audio controls with 2 headphone jacks (headphones not included) and 2 wireless headphones"

I can't see why GM would put a different NAV radio in Outlook or Acadia. They are all the same (with the exception that Buick had the backup camera first). The others get the camera for 2008 too.
I wonder if On Star navigation is what Buick describes as being voice activated to compete with the MDX.
The NAV has voice. It only handles a few commands, so it's very limited.
The Nav does not sound like the Acura MDX Nav but how many if any are?
This is the link to the NAV Radio Manual for the Acadia

https://www.mygmlink.com/pdf/go2content/manual/US/en/gmc/2007acadia_nav.pdf (you have to setup a mygmlink account if you don't already have one.). Page 84 describes the "Voice Recognition". I have to believe this is the same manual for the Enclave (as it is for the Outlook).

Note: I decided not to go with the NAV radio since the turn-by-turn directions from Onstar will suffice for me. I've been using Onstar since the early days when they had to install a handset in the vehicle (my '99 Montana had it installed for free at the time by the dealer). It's a great service.
Thank you for contacting Buick and for your interest in the 2008 Buick Enclave! We
appreciate the time you have taken to write us.

Unfortunately, the navigation system that is available with the Entertainment 3 and 4
Packages on the Enclave does not come equipped with voice recognition capabilities. We
apologize for this inconvenience! However, we will be sending a 2008 Enclave brochure to
the address you have provided. The brochure will take between 7-14 business days to
arrive. This brochure will be able to provide you with all the different configurations
of the vehicle. We would like to thank you again for your interest in this vehicle!

   I hope they were wrong. I hope the Enclave owners here give it a try and let us know. :thumb:

So...are you using it? Does it work well? Is this just another example of GM reps not knowing what the **** they're talking about? :eek:hno:
Itsabuick? Does your manual match the supplement manual for the Acadia? It would seem very odd that these radios would have different features between the lambda's. They even use the same RPO codes (UZR or U3R)
The manual says 2008 Navigation system (Enclave, Lucerne, Equinox, Torrent, Acadia). So maybe its a 2008 thing.

The NAV has only a few commands. "Navigation go to {desination} and you have to add a voice tag for {destination} from an already present destination. I used it yesterday, it works but the turn by turn gave up after the major roads, about a mile from the final destination. I hope the DVD update fixes that. It's not like I live in out the coutry or anything.

Voice Reconition can also be used for Radio commands, DVD, and CD.

The system is very very limited. :-\
