Yep, and recent scientific evidence and government research has proven that living has a near 100% chance of causing death.

Did you know that 87% of all statistics are made up on the spot?

I know this post may be a bit dated, but I came across this article yesterday about new car smell. It seems that when actually tested, it is nothing more than an irritant to someone with allergies and not toxic. I guess that if we constantly worried about everything that is reportedly going to kill us we would never be able to enjoy life.

I hadn't really thought about it before but I can't smell the new car smell anymore either. Seems to me that in the old days (circa 1993) that smell lasted for 6 months or more. I wonder if there are fewer chemicals now than there used to be.

I love that smell, too. Remember the air fresheners that hang from the rear view mirrors with the "new car" smell?

I took it to the car wash yesterday and was complaining that the new car smell was gone... but the lady said she could smell it from outside the car. I think maybe your nose gets used to it like when you wear the same perfume every day.

I can still smell it in my husband's TL that we bought at the end of April, but I'm only in that car maybe once a week.

actully my yukon is ten months old and i still smell it, what i think happens is you get used to it, we just got back from vacation and it smelled new to get in but only for a short time, so i think i got used to it and now i am not because i have not seen it for a week.

I'm sure I'll be opening myself up to all kinds of jokes.............but, the interior my two week old Enclave smells like on Garlic Bagel (my 11 year old son's words). It has the typical new car smell, but it also has a "Garlic Bagel Like" chemical type odor. The smell is also noticeable from the engine compartment. Just had to ask.

also, i think we are all paranoid about our life, think about every body from the 50's and 60's who are still alive, slept in lead cribs, drank from a garden hose, less crimes, if you drag raced you got a ticket, 50 years ago when my father was 10, his mother would give him 50 cents to go buy a jug of beer for her down at the bar, she called him up and he would give it to him for my mother, now if you do that you get arrested.

i figure im gunna die when im supposed to die, and im gunna live life with no fears. heck we hooked up a tractor to the back of my yukon the other day and i drove at 30 and my bud sat on the tractor and we went over ramps, then we changed and i tried it. man was that fun.

global warming, why was that different from the 50 and 60's BEFORE any low e engines. now even suvs have low e and we complain more.

New car smell is OK but I prefer the smell of leather. That's what I use for an air freshener in my vehicles.

My old S-10 always smelled like coffee. Not a bad smell.

Of course two people spilling full cups on the front carpet (at different times) may have had something to do with it.
