Since no one has even mentioned this I decided WTH I might as well and get it over with.

That **** little twit Kim Jong-un seems to be **** bent on starting a war and possibly a nuclear war at that.

I am still trying to figure out just who is pulling his "puppet strings" because my thought, he has no brain only a name.

The latest statement is NK warns foreigners to leave South Korea to avoid being dragged into a "merciless, sacred, retaliatory war". That would be a war which he starts, not the South and not Japan and not us.

Putin said conflict on the peninsula could cause greater devastation than the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.

"I would make no secret about it, we are worried about the escalation on the Korean peninsula, because we are neighbors," he told a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel during a visit to a trade fair in Germany.

"And if, God forbid, something happens, Chernobyl which we all know a lot about, may seem like a child's fairy tale. Is there such a threat or not? I think there is... I would urge everyone to calm down... and start to resolve the problems that have piled up for many years there at the negotiating table."

Kim Jong-un seems to be a moronic sociopath. I had always understood sociopaths to be intelligent. I guess that makes him special.

"The American territory's crisis-ready inhabitants are trusting God, Uncle Sam, common sense, and poor aim to keep them safe from a ballistic assault.

This isn't the first time the repressive, isolated regime has flaunted the notion that Guam is within striking distance. Nor is it probably the last time Guamanians will hear that North Korea lacks the technology to make a direct hit. Islanders don't treat the current round of vitriol lightly, but aren't paralyzed by it either."

If nothing else, this crisis has escalated the name Of Guam into the international spotlight. Until recently, I must admit that I had forgotten about its existence as a U.S. territory.

South Korea and the United States were on high alert for a North Korean missile launch on Thursday as the reclusive and poverty-stricken state turned its attention to celebrating the ruling Kim dynasty and appeared to tone down rhetoric of impending war.

Despite threats it will attack U.S. bases and the South in response to any hostile acts, North Korea started to welcome a stream of visitors for Monday's celebrations marking the birthday of founding father, Kim Il-sung.

Our good friends Steven and Sophia are both from South Korea. She was there in February for her Mother's funeral. When I spoke with Sophia this past Saturday she said she has told her brother and sister, the only 2 of 9 still living in South Korea to leave and come over here.

I hope they listen and come over.

Taipei's foreign ministry issued a statement late on Wednesday asking Taiwanese to delay their trips for business, holidays and education. Its representative office in South Korea has set up a team to handle any emergency that might develop.

"It's a reminder to our people that the situation in Korea is unclear," spokeswoman Anna Kao said. "Our representative offices there are watching closely for any latest development."

North Korea has the ability to launch nuclear-armed ballistic missiles, although they would likely be unreliable, a Pentagon spy agency has concluded, as the United States and South Korea kept watch on Thursday for a missile test-launch by Pyongyang.

The Defense Intelligence Agency study, dated last month, appeared to be the first time the agency had reached such a conclusion.

Addressing reporters after talks with South Korea's president and leaders of the 28,000-strong U.S. military contingent in the country, Kerry also said it was up to China, North Korea's sole major ally, to "put some teeth" into efforts to press Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

Kerry, like other U.S. officials, played down an assessment from the Pentagon's intelligence agency that the North already had a nuclear missile capacity.

The United States, he said, wanted to resume talks about North Korea's earlier pledges to halt its nuclear program.

But he also stressed that Washington would defend its allies in the region if necessary and pointedly said that Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader, "needs to understand, as I think he probably does, what the outcome of a conflict would be".

At least China is on board concerning North Korea.

The United States and China agreed on Saturday to make a joint effort to push for the peaceful denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, following weeks of bellicose rhetoric from North Korea and rising tensions in northeast Asia.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met China's top leaders in a bid to persuade them to exert pressure on North Korea, whose main diplomatic supporter is Beijing, to scale back its belligerence and, eventually, return to nuclear talks.
