A story in tomorrow's NYT caught my eye. See it here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/03/a...&oref=slogin&ref=automobiles&pagewanted=print

What stood out was this:

GENERAL MOTORS: More than 20 years’ worth of General Motors vehicles are the subject of a bulletin on oil leaks. In TSB 05-06-01-019F issued on Oct. 2, the company said that vehicles produced from 1986 through 2008 with a variety of 60-degree V-6 engines might leak oil from the crankshaft’s rear main seal. Installing a revised crankshaft rear main seal should stop the leak.

So, does anyone here know if that TSB applies to Enclaves?

I believe this applies to the old pushrod 3400 series, 3800 series, etc V-6s that have been built since the late 80s and a FEW still this year. We had that problem with a "slight" oil seepage around that seal on our Montana and it was replaced under warranty. The V-6 in the Enclave is a brand new for GM DOHC 24 valve V6 that has only been around the last couple of years. I would almost bet that bulletin doesn't apply to our engine.
