It shows it as a Premium Colour, Interim Availability-January 2008 option in my Canadian Enclave brochure
I've only seen it on the Canadian website - no mention of it in the US. Aren't they all made at the same factory in Lansing? Why have a color only available for purchase in Canada? ???
Because we are polite people and said please.
We also say Thanks, eh :thumb:
Can't forget eh, eh?
Paint Shop says all three will have this color.
Don,

Is this color available on any other GM vehicle now? Wondering what the difference is between this color and the "regular" Platinum -- clearly the tricoat color process will make it look different. Also wondering if the January date is correct or will it be available sooner? Since we just ordered (7/27), it's unlikely the order will be picked up for production for some time, so I'm wondering if this color might be available around the time the vehicle hits the line?

Thanks for any info you might be able to provide.

thank you so much don.... since it is taking the place of the white diamond, which to me has a yellow hue to it, one might be able to assume that this will be white w/more platinum metallic. hopefully, it will make it look more white/silver rather that white/gold like the white diamond. seems like it will be a beautiful version of white.

I like your attitude....
Any other GM vehicles with this color? Pics?

There is also a gold flash tricoat... I've seen it on a Buick Lucerne. IMO it looks better than the White Diamond because the base coat is much whiter, even if the metallic is more gold than on the Enclave. A white base with platinum metallic would be very beautiful, but for some reason I suspect that it will have a bit more silvery base color.

MsS42, I believe one of the older Cadilac Allante had a color similar to what you're talking about . It might have been called White Pearl, but I'm not sure. It was beautiful and it was a whiter white than White Diamond.

I am sorry but I don't know if this paint is avalible on other platforms.

The Platinum Ice and the Current White Diamond are not the same colors; there both white metallic tri-coats, but they are different color shades of white. The new Platinum Ice available in January is bluer and cleaner. Both of these paints have an extra “interference” coat of paint so the light has more partials to reflect off, gives it a different brilliance and sparkle qualities. The light travels differently off these premium tri-coat paints.
By bluer and cleaner I don't mean the current White Diamond is dirty, but it has more of a cloudy effect on purpose.
I have enough color and design experience to understand the difference between warm and cool colors, blue base or yellow base. I personally go back and forth on white diamond. Sometimes I think the "off-white" yellow base looks dirty, other times it looks posh - mostly I see it on Escalades so they always look like a posh ride anyway. My 6 year old saw WDT on an Outlook when we were color shopping and she loved it - she said if our car was that color, we would look "Rich!" She likes the name "white diamond." Last sunday, we were coming out of church and I looked across the parking lot on the back side and every single car in my view was white. I called my husband over to look at that - it kind of sealed the deal on a no white car for us decision! I cannot wait to see how the Platinum Ice looks though!!! My husband has always wanted a red car and I realy like Red Jewel - so that will be it for us!

Red Jewel is nice, but I do like the White Diamond better. I am not much for gadgets but I think I would spend the money and get the premium tri-coat paint. Another thing that I love about the Enclave is the fancy Bose stereo system. I drive cars in the lots sometimes and you can really notice how nice the fancy stereo system is.
The White Diamond Tri-Coat is $745 but the Red Jewel Tint-Coat is only $395.

my dad (when i was only 2) had an Allante, said he loved it, was the first cadillac with a northstar, and it was white and he told me the sticker said pearl white, and it had a burgendy int, not my favorite combination of colors, but i will see if i can scan some of his old pictures.
