Is there a roof rail delete option available. I don't think I would ever put anything on the roof af an Enclave.

No, I don't think there is...I do like the chrome accent up there...helps to balance out the chrome handles and grille.
i think the roof rails are standard. i will putting a cargo box on mine when we take cross country road trips plus the roof rails look very nice. perhaps if you special order your enclave you can have the dealer take off the roof rails.
I like the look of the roof rails but I probably won't get much use out of them either.
We asked our dealer about the cross rails for the roof rails when we ordered ours. He said they were not an option to order, and he did not know yet if we could buy them as a dealer option. He did have a catalog with other dealer options that would be available for the Enclave. ???
According to www.gmpartsdirect.com, part number is 12499978 "Luggage Cross Rails, Black w/ Chrome End Caps". However they are not available to order yet from the website and no price is listed :sosad:.

Acadia roof cross rails are P/N 12499868 . They are available for $156.11 (from gmpartsdirect). I don't think the Acadia rails will fit the Enclave.
oh my fault, i thought balmerc was speaking of the chrome railings on the top. didnt think he was talking about the cross rails that you purchase to hold things such as the cargo box on top.
I was talking about the side roof rails, not the cross rails. I would rather have a plain roof, no side rails at all.
ahhhh, then perhaps as i stated before maybe you can special order one w/o them.
On the last couple of vehicles on which I've looked, a Chrysler T&C and a Yukon XL, there are inset threaded holes in the roof (presumably in its structural members) to which the rack is attached. If the standard rails are not present, these holes would exposed to the weather and likely lead to problems unless a cover was available that was weathertight. I may be wrong, but I doubt there is an available alternate roof sheetmetal design without the holes.
Re: ROOF RAILS - Just got Ship confirm on Cross Rails

HI
I ordered the cross rails from gmpartsdirect.com. They were on back order, however I just received a ship confirmation (They are 156 +11 SH) - FYI :D
Personally, a crossover/SUV doesn't look right unless it has roof rails. The CX-7/9 from Mazda look very odd to me because of the missing roof rails, but that's just me. I find CUVs today without roof racks look like giant jellybeans

I would keep them. They add a nice touch and give the car a certain, "je ne sais quoi"
Is the cost of the roof rails $156 for one rail or for two?
I'm pretty sure that the cross rails come as a set of 2.

Sounds good anyway. ;D
