I posted this on the Acadia sight as well.

After having driven an Acadia I am debating ordering an Enclave before even seeing a production version in person. It sounds like I could back out without penalty and they would just sell it to someone else. I have seen Enclaves at the auto show but obviously have not sat in one yet. Does anyone know if the seats are the same between the Enclave and the Acadia? The only thing I can really think of that would be a deal breaker is if the seats are uncomfortable.

My guess is the changes are only skin (or shell in this case) deep. The pictures of seats in Enclave brochure look exactly like the ones in Acadia. They should be a little more plush if anything.

There's also about 75 interior pics in the Gallery here. Check out Shappy's gallery for tons of pics. They do look practically indentical to my Acadia seats. I'd guess they will be VERY similar.

Going through the brochure again last night I noticed that the 3rd seats look a tiny bit more comfy.

We were interested in the 2nd row bench seat for our Enclave. However, I got the chance to sit in an Acadia at the dealership that had the 2nd row bench the other day. The center position in the 2nd row bench is absolutely brutal. It's so firm and uncomfortable, I can't imagine using it except for emergency seating. Assuming the Enclave's seats are similar, I made up my mind then and there to get 7 passenger seating. That decided, does anyone know the status of availability of the second row console?

Re: Seats - No inside arm rest?

Since the center console in the second row is an option on the Enclave, I noticed in the brochure that there is no arm rest on the inside of the two captain's chairs. If you get the center armrest, I guess that's okay. But if someone opts to not buy the console, will there be arm rests on the inside of the seats? Seems it would have to if it's called a captain's chair. Anyone know for sure?

I am pretty sure there will be arm rest if you do not want 2nd row center console.

GoTerps...there are actually two seat configurations for the rear seat captains chairs...and no you don't get to choose. If you order the optional console, you will not get armrests on the seats since the console provides the armrest and having them on the seats would create either interference (which we wouldn't do) or a smaller console (which we didn't want to do). When you don't get the console, you get the seats with the armrests...just like are currently available in the Acadia and Outlook.

Even though we needed our vehicle sooner than the Enclave came out, we specifically asked at the DC Auto Show if the console would be an option or always there. The Buick guy said it was perm and couldn't be removed or ordered without =( This completely eliminated the Enclave as a contender for us (since the pass-through was of vital importance). I'm sorry that guy was misinformed (in his defense, it was still a concept), but I'm very glad to hear there are 3 seating configurations on the Enclave! That should satisfy a LOT of buyers' needs. Nice job once again GM (and 8j)

admin, I'm sorry too for the bad info. The console, once ordered and installed is not removable (at least not without a lot of tools and leaving a carpet cut-out on the floor). It does, however, have a multi position top which allows it to fold "flat" to match the seats when they are folded flat...thus giving you the flat load floor. It does block easy access to the third row, if that's what you're intending with captains chairs...so the way to order would be without console but with captains chairs.

The builld an Enclave on the GM web site does not say anything about the console option? Is it an additional cost?

Pardon my ignorance.
If you do not get the second row console do you have rear radio controls and headphone jacks located in another area?
I am under the impression that on the Outlook and the Acadia the audio controls and jacks for the second row are between the driver and front passenger seat. Is that correct?

In Enclave brochure 2nd row console is listed with side note "Late Availability". I interpret it as, you can't order it now. I think there will be nothing on the floor between the 2nd row captain chairs.

The 2nd row audio controls are at the back of first row console, so they should be there regardless of whether you order 2nd row console or not.

The front console and 2nd row console are different. Check these pics out from the gallery...

This one shows the back of the front console, where all radio and AC controls & headphone jacks are located...

While this one shows the optional 2nd row console in question...

Do you have a picture of the console open?

Is it going to be a xxx$ option?

Do you have a nice picture of the Cashmere leather in your library of pictures?
