I reluctantly ordered my Enclave before the second row console is available. The dealer thinks that the console can be ordered and installed later (and he will do so at cost) but I have also read that the middle row captain's seats that are installed when the console is not ordered have inboard arm rests that are not compatible with the console. Does anyone know if the console can be added later? Do the current captain's seats have inboard arm rests? If so, does it appear that the armrests can be removed? Are there tracks in the center that appear to support a console?

I believe there is also supposed to be aux power outlet in the rear console, which was one of the
reasons that the console has to be factory installed. This requires electrical for the outlet to be
run to the console, which is not there if there is no console. Also not sure if the inboard armrests
are removable, which would mean a different set of capt. chairs than would be in models without
the rear console. On the Enclave with capt. chairs I tested the other day, there did not appear to be
anything on the floor that would support mounting the rear console, so adding one looks to me to be
a fair bit of work and expense.

If you are willing to spend enough money anything is possible, but adding the second rowMsS42 said:

second row console cannot be added due to the incompatability of the arm rests on the second row. when you order console you loose the second row arm rests.... we had this discussion awhile back and we researched and found out that you cannot add second row console after the fact. regardless of the cost no one is gonna totally reconfigure a car for that including destroying the seats to remove the arm rests that makes no sense.

do something that something CANNOT be done. Things like this are never done because it makes sense,

you have clearly missed pauls point.... but since you want to rant and rave about how money someone has than you go right ahead.... your neighbor may not have been short on money but he sure was short on a few other things.... :deadhorse:

paul, back to your question, your dealer will not be able to add the center console later as he has told you... we were told by a gm worker that it is an option that must be ordered in your initial order. we know it is because of the captains chairs the ones that come w/the center console have no arm rests and i think as it was mentioned before that there is some electrical wiring going on w/the console also.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. Disappointing that they would feature an unavailable item on their website and in their brochure. (Yeah, I know it says late availability, but after ten tears of avoiding GM I had hoped for better.)

Paul, You and I are in the same Boat. I ordered may 18th. I went by the Dealer today and GM had not picked up my order yet. :banghead: The Dealer said they have to pick up the Order first, then he can tell them that I want to include the Console. But until they pick up the order, just sit back and wait. :banghead:
