I was really interested in this event and, after seeing the post, tried to register on the Buick site. However, I was unable to complete the registration, so called the salesperson listed at the dealer shown on the Buick site. The individual had no idea about the promotion and wasn't able to reach the general manager. I did learn the dealer near Des Moines had 3 Enclaves on the lot, so I will be able to see them within the next few days. So....

Here's my cynical comment: I am interested for the first time since the 1970s in an American produced/designed vehicle -- I want everything except the sunroof and the DVD option (prefer pkg #3). The car costs as much as some homes people live in and the dealer listed by Buick is completely unaware of a promotion to market these expensive vehicles. While I vent, whether it be Mercedes, Volvo, BMW, Mazda, Toyota, etc., etc., I usually know more about the cars than even management. That is not an arrogant statement; I'm no genius, but wouldn't it make sense to know what's going on if you want to sell to informed consumers?! Might I purchase elsewhere now? Probably. Thanks for "hearing" my vent.

I went to a local dealership that was listed as participating the Event. They had no idea what I was talking about at first and when I said the "Start of Something Beautiful", they even chuckled as said that they remembered that song! One of the salespersons involved in internet sales did recognize the event and said that it would be held during the mid-part of June, but did not know of any discount or incentives with the event?

I was also able to register for the event online tonight after having the same problems listed above earlier.

The following was the response e-mailed to me from the registration:

Dear Guest,

Get ready to experience an evening designed to take you into a world of elegance and luxury. Get ready to experience the Buick Enclave.

We hope you're looking forward to seeing Enclave as much as we're looking forward to seeing you at the Enclave Start of Something Beautiful Premiere Event at SCHUMACHER BUICK-PONTIAC.

Thank you for registering, and be sure to look for the latest from the beautiful new world of Buick.

Blurrybill, totally agree with you. January went to numerous dealers to purchase a Rendezvous loaded 4wd/AWD. Not one dealer mentioned that these were not being made in 4WD/AWD for 2007. Found this information on a BLOG. Went to another large dealer which confirmed this, but he found me a 2006 exactly like I wanted and it had a rebate! Lucky me, yeah right? Through the internet I found the car he was talking about, and found the car had been sold months ago. To this date, the dealership that found me this car has never even called me back to say it didn't exist. Called a dealership 1 hour away asking if they had any 2006 Rendezvous- said no, but just got in a Tribecca all options I was looking for, with less than 1000 miles on it, and though I didn't want a Tribeca thought it was a good deal, and told him I'd take vacation, and would be right up. I got there and it was sold!! So, called the largest dealer around this area, told them I was interested in the new ENCLAVE but had no information, they told me to come up and they were sure they could help me. Drove 2 hours to this dealership, and they had NO information what so ever on the ENCLAVE!! To say that the road has been weary is an understatement for me. Finally went to a fairly small dealer that showed me the dealership brocure on the ENCLAVE and I have remained with this dealer. This dealership has seemed to have information the larger ones didn't and definitely had pricing when others didn't. So placed my order and am awaiting my ENCLAVE- Being produced at this moment. I don't get my hopes up, as I am afraid something else will happen. Thanks for letting me vent!

update.........

called directly to 6 dealerships whithin 50 miles and only 1 Buick Manager knew what I was talking about.....

1 out of 6 Managers did not even know the basic info on the enclave......I get more information from this site than from the Buick Dealership or even GMC..............

Im close to FT Lewis, WA actually stationed here and there is a chev/Buick dealership withing 2 miles however these guys and the Sales Manager are brain dead.....funny thing they have a big box of brochures just sitting on the floor when you walk in....All it takes is for one of them to read the darn thing and at least educate themself on the product!!!!!!

I hope a GMC big wig reads these post and puts a shoe in some ones back side.... the Dealership is Gilchrist Buick on South Tacoma Way........

Shame I have to drive to Portland ( over 2 hours away) just to get an answer and test drive one.............................

OK.......it's off my chest....still buying one just surprised on the total lack of motivation/dedication these Managers have for their own product..... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

robnsd, you might check with Cornforth-Campbell Buick in Puyallup. I have not yet spoken with them regarding the Enclave, but figured that I would be calling them in the near future. They seem to be somewhat more "on the ball" than Gilchrist. At least they knew what I was talking about when I inquired about an Enclave brochure!

I also tried all six dealerships withing 20 miles of me and got the same error trying RSVP for the event. I'll try again, but I don't really care about an RSVP. As long as I know when it is, I can stop by I suppose. I don't need to buy one, just see them and get some more info...

Well i am not at all disipointed with my dealer! About 2 and a half months ago when we test drove an acadia the salesman said that they would have an enclave in about a month(which wasnt true but i knew that when he told us because they hadnt even started producing yet) and he said that they were going to be really nice and he would call us when they got one. he even offered us free tickets to the auto show in our area but we were going to be out of town so we didnt take them.. and after i had read that the dealers should have the brochures i went to the dealer within a week and they had them and the salesman that i talked to then knew exactly what i was talking about!! :thumb:

:blob:   OMG I guess GM big wigs do read this board............

I got an email today from one of the Dealerships in my area (Tacoma, WA FT Lewis) they invited me to view/drive a fully loaded Enclave today, they got it yesterday for their event next Month....

So it was just me and the Manager for over 2 hours just talking/driving (about 20 minutes) no one else.....it was in their back lot so the public could not even see it..............not even the salesman knew about it.....

I did want to buy it BUT I was told it was not for sale till after the June 11th event......

it's ok I got my enclave fix.......I want to brown one any way....................when you ruffle enough feathers GM will listen......
