Is there a way to take the shade off in the second row it looks really cheap and when i test drove the enclave it doesn't really block all the sunlight
GM could have done a lot better in the material quality of the shade

Who wants a blazing hot sun on the top of their head constantly? The sheer shade is exactly why I didn't get the sunroof! I really wanted it, but there's no way I'm going to have the sun beating down on me all day. Especially in the Texas summers. I don't care how cool it may be in the cabin. They could have made a true knock out shade for the Enclave. Oh well. I saved some money!

We were so so on the sky roof. I think if they had offered just the front sunroof (at a cheaper price) we probably would've gone with that instead. However, I don't think I'll ever buy a vehicle without a sunroof unless we move somewhere incredibly hot. Also, we felt the cabin was just too dark and enclosed without any sunroof at all so in the end we had to go ahead and shell out the money for the overpriced sunroof option.

For those who are concerned about the heat and the shade on the skylight not being adequate, have you thought of having window tint put on the skylight to reduce the amount of heat? Just a thought.

Personally, I'd like a complete knock out shade. Tint will help but won't do what I want.

We checked the sunroof option when we ordered ours. However, I must admit I thought the shade/cover was a little on the frugal side. Every other vehicle I've owned had the ability to totally block out the sun. Obviously it wasn't a deal breaker as I do like having the fixed roof for the back passengers with the power shade. It gives GM something easy they can improve to a later model year.

Every Sunroof that I have owned was already tinted. I doubt if the Enclave is an exception. Tint and inside cover probably won't be so bad. 8)

i like the sunshades, felt it was a nice touch rather that the old hard/heavy sunshade. if ya pay attention to how the 2 sunroofs are made and the narrow space between the 2 where the dvd goes there is no where for the regular type of sunshade to go when pushed back. the way they have it made its on rollers and apparently you can't roll up those hard sunshades.

GM does have a complete knock-out shade on the SRX that rolls up.

I don't mind that the shade still lets some light through, as it still keeps the airy feeling in the car, but I would like an option to have the colour of the shade match the interior of the car.

For reference, the ~$70k Mercedes GL (nicely equipped) rear sunroof uses a mesh screen, and it isn't even power. ;) It does, however, nicely match the interior color. Win some, lose some I guess.

My wife and I purchased our Eclave last weekend off the dealer lot. The color was right and it had every option we wanted (and many we didn't care about) except it did not have the sunroofs which we really wanted. The dealer then told us about the option of having two sunroofs installed. They are both power sunroofs (i.e. the back one opens too) and the back one is larger than the front one. The cost was about $1,800 but we negotiated it into our deal. It was either that or wait 3-4 months for a car to be ordered with sunroofs. The sunroofs are scheduled to be installed in our Enclave next week. We love the Enclave and are alittle wary of anyone touching it, although the sunroofs do come with a lifetime warranty. Has anyone else tried this?

AWD CXL, Cocoa Metallic, Cashnere leather interior, Entertainment Package #4, Luxury Package, Driver's Confidence Package.

Good for you! We had a power roof installed into a Yukon 4 years ago. It was better in every way than OE and works well! A custom body shop/accessory specialist shop did it! The parts are top quality and a good installer will make you smile!! :thumb:

Please post some pics once you get it installed. I'd love to see how it looks. We went for the factory sunroofs because we were ordering anyway, but I'm curious to see how yours turn out.
