This is How I Think We Should Post Pictures

This is an example of 20 inch wheels on a Cocoa Enclave

Isn't this much better than looking through the gallery?

The gallery is a great place for a user to create a gallery of their car(s) but I think there needs to be a general Enclave Picture thread for each color underneath the Forum Section called, Pictures.

Thx, Steve

Sounds good to me, but there must be a reason they do it like they do. I'm sure someone will be here shortly to explain it all to us.....
I like the gallery and this way takes up too much space in a thread. anyway, those are the 20's im getting on my clave. its not for the size its for the style. i dont like any of the 19's.

I tend to agree with that. I have not tried to attach a photo in a thread yet myself. If they can be resized like the Acadia forum where clicking on them makes them larger, then I would be OK with photos in the threads themselves.
I like them in thread granted you shrink 'em like Acadiaforum and click to see the full size. You can't comment on something in the gallery. The thread however should be limited to your own Enclave pictures. This way it won't take up a lot of space. Just 7-8 pix or so.
well you can upload a picture to photo bucket and have it show up as a thumbnail.and when you click on it it gets big so that feature is avalible even if it is not part of the forums.
Argh... big pictures as part of signatures... please admins say it ain't so!!!!!!!!!
IMO, I think a good compromise is always a fair thing to do. Small pictures in the posts with an option of enlarging when we clicked on should be no problem. That way we can comment on what was posted. A post should not be overwhelmed by large pictures, emoticons, inspirational quotes, and oversized signatures. We should focus on the message and compliment them with these artistic touches so the reader won't be bored looking at plain text only. Again, just my opinion. Each of us of course have our own preferences - just like in our cars.

i appreciate being able to go to the gallery and click on individual names and use the slideshow. cause searching through threads would be the pits.
I post my pictures to the gallery. Then I include them into a post using the img tags pointing to the image in my gallery.

Works for me.
Actually, this is what I think is an inconvenience - if you are in a picture thread, why not show pictures? This is archaic IMO - no other useful websites (car forums) make you click all over the place to view what the thread is discussing.

Just my 2 cents

OK, let me re-state what I am suggesting, and also make note of what I think were some excellent suggestions:

1) I am not saying get rid of the gallery or stop promoting it's use - it is a great way to organize all of a user's pictures of their Enclave!

2) The pictures embedded within a "Red Jewel Tint Coat" thread could be smaller than the ones I posted above - but as suggested above, if you have a (free) photobucket account you can embed a small/med sized picture in the thread and by clicking it you can view the larger size. If you would rather link to your gallery, you cd do that too, but the embedded picture in the thread is the way to go (IMO)

3) What my underlying suggestion is "I think there should be a way of organizing in one place pictures of a certain kind"

Wouldn't it be nice to see these threads all in a row for your choosing:

Red Jewel Tint Coat
Gold Mist Metallic
Ming Blue Metallic
White Opal
Etc
Etc

Interior Pictures would also be a nice collection of ALL the possibilities and from all the various angles that owner's shoot them

I think it is very useful for my mind to see a certain color vehicle shot at different angles at different times of the day and at different locations. I think it is simply the best way to enjoy/examine a certain color of car. The way we have it in the forum right now, it is quite difficult to find a thread that showcases (for example) Dark Crimson Metallic.

Thanks! Steve

OSLI, I detest big signatures too. This is not what I (or anyone else) is suggesting.

Another Thought on The Gallery

Perhaps the Gallery Could be Organized by Color.

Why can't we do it like the Acadia forum? They have reasonable sized images in the post that can be clicked on and enlarged if desired.
What does ADMIN say? Is this possible for us over here at the Enclave Forum? ???
G
you know after you mentioned " i would be glad to help" i just realised that there are no mods on this site.
Good point! - I hadn't even noticed that - there is definitely enough interest surrounding the Enclave for a couple moderators to help with organizing and promoting the vehicle and the interests of the forum community.

Thx, Steve

And when the modding or technical stuff begins, the more we'll need pics. So another good point, as with other sites, it's good to post pics with the post to show what you did. For example, a good guide right now would be for someone to show a step-by-step on how to change oil on the Enclave. I'm sure this is trivial for some but it's a good confidence booster for those who's uneasy about doing this kind of thing.

We can do that now. Click additional options when you post a message. It gives you the option of attaching a picture.
Well, there you have it. Seems like a good compromise between showing images in a reasonable size yet allowing them to be enlarged if desired! A Win-Win !
