Is there anyway to unlock navigation allowing destination selection while in motion? I understand the concern about safety while in use but why can't the passenger make the changes? Ditto not being able to use the vertical scroll controls for catetgories and stations on XM. Again, I assume this is for safety reasons but I can just as easily crash changing audio settings, fiddling with the computer information screen or the numerous other things they allow me to do while in motion as I could looking for a new radio category.

Lots of discussion on this. Checkout the discussions on the Coastal eTech GM Lockpick. An add-on "black box" made by a small company in FL. Unlocks both DVD on the Nav while in motion, and all Nav entry functions. You just tap certain buttons on the steering wheel and the window locks in certain sequence to enable/disable. You might want to disable if a state trooper is nearby (since watching a DVD on the Nav is reportedly Illegal in most states). I also see where you can run a "blue wire" from the radio area where the black box is to a wire bundle on the floor under the passenger seat to override the requirement of having to be in reverse to see out the rear view camera. Other than this blue wire, the install is supposed to be easy with no messy wires having to be run. I would love to hear if anyone has had luck with the single blue wire for the rear view camera. Did it work? How did you run it?
