Well it has really only been just over 6 weeks since ordering and we are sitting at 2051 as an order code. We are at a cross roads of bailing on the whole thing and getting something else (Volvo XC90 or Audi Q7) before we invest to much more time into this. I guess I understand the 8 week time frame and accepted that, but at this point we are looking at at least 10 weeks given our current status. I asked my dealer what the next steps are and basically he said we just wait. He will check my status code regularly and if it changes before my typical Monday call he will call me. :banghead:

Sooo...

For those of you out there with Enclaves already how about a few shout-outs as to a reason to wait (i.e. Having an Enclave is great because....)

Sure could use the motivation to continue waiting.....

How 'bout this:
Just think of those members (like ticner58, who's still @ 1100 and jeanb1 -- who bailed after waiting since April) that are sitting at code 1100 and have waited far longer.

Stick it out -- it will be worth it. Right now, I would LOVE for my them to say my order is @ 2000 or above because then I know it's in line to be built. No, you don't have a definite build date yet, but the horizon for you getting your Enclave is not so far off you can't see it.

See my post about Enclave Envy in Michigan -- seeing that loaded CXL parked on the street in Grand Haven made me drool even more and made me wish that our order was at least accepted by GM and in line with the thousands of others. And remember, the 3rd shift will be coming on-line soon and that will really impact the output from the factory. My guess is you won't have to wait as long as you think.

You're too far into it now, I think you'd be sorry to give up -- but if you do, can I have your order?

If in your opinion you went for a lesser vehicle, you'll always have the doubt in the back of your mind everytime you drive your vehicle. If you went for a better vehicle, you'll be glad you didn't have to go through the waiting game. Tough choice. Did you try to find your vehicle at some other dealer? I'm sure there's a dealer with a better inventory.

I don't see a code 2051 on VOMS order status codes. Did you make a change to your order after GM accepted it at code 2000?

We are on order at 2000 also. However a neighbor of mine just told me she saw the Enclave in an advertisement and was very complementary of my choice. This was a pleasant surprise as most of the neighbors think foreign only (but will place an American flag sticker on their car) and usually do not comment a whole lot when a new car is brought home to anyones driveway. Keep in mind I grew up in the Detroit area where talking about cars is as safe as talking about the weather. So I was pleased that not only did she remember the name but she also was impressed with it's lines. New cars are exciting and I am finding that the thought of owning a brand new model is very exciting! Keep hanging in there, it is gonna pick up.

Do you really have to wait???? I went from Indy to Chicago (Carbon) and my Dad went Indy to KY (Wht. Diamond). It did take some tracking down but it is possible. Yes, 1 day of pain but we could not stand the wait anymore. We ARE VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Added a couple of pictures to the Gallery ClaveCraver pg 2

Well, I would say wait, as I really don't think that there is a vehicle out there that offers what this one does. I have researched this segment of cars/suvs for over a year now, and no matter what vehicle you choose, there will be something either missing, or something that you are totally overpaying for. The size of the cabin is unmatched (with the exception of the minivan). The drive is that of a Lexus, without the extra $20K. The 3rd row is more usuable than any 3rd row out there (again, with the exception of the minivan). The look of the exterior is a show stopper (unless you are married to a more boxy look -- which I must admit I love, but I now love the curves and lines, and design of thee Enclave). Even cars like the Mercedes GL450, at a loaded price tag of 75K doesn't offer the interior space and 3rd row usability as the Enclave.

We have only had ours since Saturday, but in the past several days, I have determined that all my research was for a good reason. Even though this car is one of triplets, it really seems like one of a kind to me. I took my son and his friends to AYSO soccer camp today, and the lot was full of minivans, Tahoes, Lexus....As I looked around, I thought, wow, I really love my car. Not only did it stand out among the crowd, got lots of interested glances, but my load of boys and girls all hopped in and out of the Enclave with ease (love the captains chairs!!!) -- I didn't have to do anything other than a buckle check roll call!!

Add to that the 4 year 5oK warranty, and the new Buick reliability ratings, and it is worth the wait.

There are obviously other choices out there, but if you don't need the car immediately, just hang out and wait...You won't be sorry....Lisa

I have searched within 350 miles with out luck. Everytime I find one and call it has already been sold. We are not willing to compromise on options (maybe more, but not less) so I guess we wait.

We originally had Ent Pkg #1 but decided to up it to #4 and added the Tow Pkg after reading about it here. I think that is why we have 2051 (two changes maybe?) It was at 1100 before the change but within the first 2 weeks of ordering.

After looking around nothing really compares, but to add insult to injury I called Buick today and they looked up my order number and let me know that it has not been picked up yet for production. I asked if she had any idea of the going time frame given it has been 6 weeks already she said that it should be within the next 2 months. :banghead: She knew nothing about the third shift when I asked on top of it, but welcomed me to call as much as I would like to check on the status.

I think what makes it difficult to wait is that we sold our van so we are dealing with one vehicle. I can't imagine going another 3+ weeks without a second car.

I once got a fortune in a cookie that I keep in my wallet, it reads, "All good things come to those with patience". I've waited years for an American automaker to build a vehicle like this. I tracked the Acadia for a year, waffling back and forth. I went to my local GM dealer weekly for at least 6 months looking, touching and wondering. On July 28th they put their first Enclave on display. and I drove mine home on the 31st of July! It's a decision I'll NEVER regret. EVERYONE loves it, even my diehard Japanese auto loving 30 something stepsons. Keep the faith, it's worth the wait!

Sounds like the gal at Buick is NOT up to date on some information. There will be a 3rd shift :thumb: starting soon, and it will obviously increase production which will help get these orders moving along.

We feel the same way :eek:hno:...the wait will be tough....but from what we've seen and especially from what we have read about the Enclave....this is one fine vehicle. We tried one out and just LOVED IT! We decided to order rather than buy off the lot. We wanted specific options and color.............SO WE WAIT!!!

Nice work ClaveCraver. First the Colts take the SuperBowl hopes from Chicago...and now you sneak in and grab one of their precious Enclaves. I will just wait since this is the vehicle I want. Think about 6 months from now when someone else gets an Enclave and you say "I was going to get one of those but I got tired of waiting". That will be lame. :lame: Who cares, he's got one and you don't. The Volvo's is not in the same "gorgeous" category and they are a dime a dozen. The Audi is sharp but you are better off getting the Enclave and strappig $20,000 to the hood.

That will serve you right for asking our opinion. Nothing personal against Audi and Volvo but... :moon:

How about because you want to be part of a revolution. The Buick brand had one foot in the grave and then this came along. The lambdas are the best thing to happen to GM in a long time. It's great being a part of that and it's great to buy American.

Or don't wait and let there be more Enclave's for those in great need! By the way, I happily turned in a 2004 Volvo XC90 for one of these Buicks that I am still patiently waiting for since May 5th. I looked at the Audi Q7 also until I sat in the cramped third row and saw the cheap tracks sticking out of the floor from the second row in the back. 8)

muljo,

Hey, don't give up on the car, just find it somewhere and go get it. I was facing the Nov/Dec delivery date (ordered 7/13) and not picked up yet. I wasn't about to give up on the Enclave, but wasn't going to wait either. Found it on the internet, asked my dealer to inquire about getting it for me and then decided if he couldn't trade for it, I'd go to the other dealer and drive it home. My local dealer got creative and made the deal so I could have the car. I think there are several red jewel with Ebony interiors in the midwest. Don't be afraid to get creative in buying out of state.

We drove our Enclave 85 miles to pick up a grand child tonight and the ride was very pleasant. Somebody mentioned as good as a Lexus--I thought as good as a Caddy. It is very smooth, quiet, comfortable, roomy, DVD is awesome, power is very adequate, tranny is smooth and seamless (at least is for me), great looking , power lift gate is a great toy as is the remote start. I love toys!!!

I can't imagine any other car on the road getting as much attention as does the Enclave. Is it worth the wait? Well, no it isn't, but like I said. Don't wait, go shopping!!! Get that Enclave--it is out there waiting for you.

Good luck and enjoy the ride!
