My 08's wave plate, I was originally informed, was not a part of the extra 14404 – Special Coverage Adjustment – Transmission Clutch Wave Plate.

As I guess they know, which plates went into which vehicle.

Just received a letter in the mail today that it has been included.

I guess that some of the plates that were not expected to fail ... did.

Anyone else that was not covered, recently receive a letter.

I don't recall, did yours fail and it wasn't covered at the time? Or are you still on the original one but just received the new coverage policy?

Hi,

I'm still on the original one.

When the extra coverage first came out, you could check each vehicle via the VIN.

Mine and few others I know of were not under the coverage.

I just received the new coverage policy.

Good to hear you haven't had to replace it, and even better that now it is under the special warranty. :thumb:

I believe the mileage is 120000 or 10 years, whichever comes first.

It's interesting that GM's added some additional wave plate batches to the extended coverage warranty.

While this is good for many folks, the more I think about it, the more I think that GM should have extended the coverage to 200,000 miles based on the expected lifespan* of the transmission. At the very least, maybe 150,000 miles for 75% of the lifespan.

* I recall reading this somewhere on this forum a bunch of months back. It was from a source that seemed reliable to me at the time.

Yes, thinking now that they have added vehicles to the special coverage.

Where as, I thought since mine wasn't included, it would be fine, now I have to worry about it again.

Especially if it goes after the coverage expires.

I checked and my coverage expires 06/28/2017 or when I hit 193,060 kms.

I am at 152,000 kms now.

What to do next year ???

Come on 2018 Enclave and please lower the price so I can afford one :sosad:

I don't think that they will be any less expensive than they are currently. :'(
