Hey guys, sorry for the delay. I was on vacation last week and trying to get caught up, both at work and at home this week. Let me set the record straight about this site first, for those of you who haven't been around since it started and may not know me. I'm just a regular guy who bought an Acadia back in late January and couldn't find a good moderated forum dedicated to my new GMC. After a week of looking, I threw up my hands, said to myself "you know, you DO this kind of thing for a living. Why not just create one and see what happens?" So I did. I started Acadiaforum.net on Feb 5th, 5 days after buying my Acadia... and it took off. Obviously, lots of other people wanted the same thing I did. About 2 months later, I started getting lots of emails and PMs asking why I didn't also have forums for the other Lambdas. After a bit of consideration, I set up enclaveforum.net and saturnoutlookforum.net as well. These sites are not run by GM or a GM employee (if you look up whois info on these domains, it probably points right to my home address in Ashburn VA). And I do my VERY best not to censor anyone on here (outside of extremely offensive content, which, so far, has been almost non-existent).
Ok, with that out of the way, I'll address the actual question about muddyZ as best I can. As most of you know, he was a GM employee, working at the Lansing Delta plant, and was a great contributor to this forum. He contacted me let me know that GM did not approve of his posts on this site. He didn't go into details about what specifically they didn't like, but his job was at stake because of it. Obviously, his livelihood is FAR more important that us getting tidbits of information from the source. He asked me to delete all of his posts and any threads he started based on his employers request. I don't necessarily agree with GM's attitude on this, but I will most definitely honor my member's requests for such things. The reason I take issue with it is because the three forums I created and run serve the sole purpose of PROMOTING these fantastic new vehicles that GM has built. Sometimes that means raving about their great features. Other times it means making GM aware of problems and issues their owners have uncovered. in either case, I would say that 95% of us here have nothing but the best of intentions with regards to GM and their Lambdas.
That said, GM is running a business; a cut-throat business in which they are currently in the fight of their lives. Perhaps muddyz mentioned something that was in violation of a nondisclosure agreement he signed. Perhaps there were posts made that GM viewed as trade secrets. Perhaps they just didn't want to take a chance of that happening down the road, who knows. If they felt insider posts on a public forum might come back to harm them in some way, that's their call to make. I assure all of you, though, that I had nothing to do with any of those decisions. I want to provide the best and most accurate information possible on the Enclave here, but I certainly don't intend on hurting GM in the process.
Muddyz is not the only GM insider we have here - there are others who post to the forum on occasion, but I think the difference is, they are acting on behalf of GM with prior approval. The bottom line here is that there's no conspiracy. A GM employee posted on here, GM didn't like it, so he stopped
