You know I fell one time for paying for a VW New Beetle over MSRP and swore I'd never do it again. When these Enclaves are being sold right off the truck dealers feel they can ask over MSRP which is highway robbery. Keep searching emailing dealers in your area OR you can do like I did and found one that gave me $300 under Invoice and discloses exactly what they make on the sales (including dealer holdback and gave me a cut of that as well). Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, ID (see my entry in "Costco has and excellent buying guide") for details. They sell to people all over the country and treated me like a real customer...

THIS IS THE WAY TO GO, pockettodd!!!

As I posted elsewhere on this forum, we needed a car, wanted a 7 passanger....saw the Enclave on web site in next satte, and drove to buy it! paid MSRP ++ some stupid $179 etching crap (done on all there cars , on day one.............hmmmm....???) I hate myself for doing it, but at least we got Conquest ($1,000) plus GM points ($1,000).

Then I find out my friend had an Enclave sent from VA to upstate NY, (HIS driveway!!) for $650 !!!!! I could've done that and saved thousands!!! GM (Buick) got me this time , but I'm still about $14,000 lifetime, ahead , on GM points alone :thumb:

I'm telling my friends/relatives who love the truck.....DON'T wait! Order from great dealers like Pockettodd did! Why not!!?

Thought some may find this interesting. It seems that some dealerships are still trying to get the most out of the Enclave. I wonder if they are considering the fact that the 3rd shift has started and hopefully after the 1st of the year, most special orders will be complete. Meaning, dealerships may become flooded with Enclaves this time next year. I want to post an interesting response from a local dealer in Houston. I've read somewhere that members wanted to list the dealers that are price gouging but I've yet to see this thread.

Email I sent the dealer:
I have sent you numerous emails with no reply from you. I am planning to order an Enclave tomorrow (Saturday Sept. 9-7-07). I have recieved separate quotes from two other dealerships in Houston. Their price is significantly lower than your initial quote. As I have stated in other emails, your dealership is more convenient to our home, but the other two are equally convenient to my office. I have been to your dealership on several different ocassions to look at the Enclave and to be honest I wasn't impressed with the sales associates (i.e. one sales associate was too busy text messaging to give proper attention needed to make a sale). This is why I chose to go the internet route. That being said, I have been equally disappointed in the internet department of your dealership. It appears that your dealership is not too concerned about a "sure sale". I thought that I would extend one last attempt to contact you via email. As I have said, we are ordering an Enclave CXL, FWD, white diamond exterior, titanium leather interior, drivers conf. pkg, FTC chrome discounted package available with sunroof/skylight, and ent. pkg. #3. I will attach the internet price from the other dealership. If you are interested in a definite sale and can match their price, feel free to contact me at 281-831-3232 by mid afternoon on Satuday. If not, thank you for your time.

1. Enclave CXL FWD ORDER white diamond seven passenger, skylight/sunroof,drivers confidence pkg, ent.pkg #3 and titanium leather MSRP $40,580 EPRICE $37903.13 it has ben taking about 8 weeks will order with $500 deposit

Dealers response:
Thank you for the opportunity, but we will pass, we only get to order a certain number of these vehicles and I do not need to discount it that much to sell them. The best we will do is $500.00 off of the MSRP of the one that you build unless you qualify for GM Supplier.

I still believe what goes around comes around. The time it takes may vary.

Letting people know either by word of mouth or by other means is the only way to place to get any leverage on dealers.

May not shop for a piece of gum but for 2k-4k difference people will shop and look.

You wonder why some people say car dealers are 1 step above pedophiles, on the food chain?? But we can always vote with our feet!! Wish I had..........but we love our Enclave!
