Tell us which configuration you own, and why you chose it.

I chose the "leather" version. I wanted leather seats. My wife wanted power seat adjustments on the passenger side. She does not have the problem or concern that so many others have about the lack of a front tilt adjustment. I contemplated the "premium" package mainly because it had the power folding mirrors. My garage door is eight foot wide rather than the normal nine foot width. I had an '07 Rendezvous prior to the new Enclave. It had humongous side mirrors. I measured the distance from the outside edge of the mirrors on the Rendezvous and the Enclave and they were exactly the same. I was used to carefully putting the Rendezvous in the garage so as to not hit the mirrors, so I figured I wouldn't have any more a problem than I was used to. The power folding mirrors would have made it a lot easier but wasn't worth the additional money for that convenience. Yes there are other features included in the premium package but none of them were a necessity to me to spend the extra dollars for it.

We went with the Premium Group. The additional items available in this group were all nice features to us....
  • Heated/Cooled Front Seats (cooling option nice to have since we live in Florida)
  • Power Tilt/Telescoping Steering Wheel (husband and I are both tall)
  • Bose Sound System (Wow! Those 10 speakers sound like you're at a concert)
  • Chrome Wheels (like the look of chrome)
  • Household Power Outlet (could always use one)
  • Folding Mirrors (nice to tuck them away while parked and going through drive-throughs)
  • Articulating Headlamps (that's just neat!)

Thanks GoldEnclave! I'm loving my "E" so much, best riding vehicle I've ever had.

You are welcome. Even after 4 years of ownership, while on the way home from work today, I was thinking about how my 2008 Enclave is the best riding vehicle that I've ever had. The specialness of owning an Enclave still has not worn off for me.

Seems no one picks base or convenience anymore.

Wifey's been driving a 2012 for about two months. Premium, she never thought about anything else. She too felt her first 08 Enclave was her absolute favorite car she has ever had. Drove everything on the road and decided she couldn't find anything she liked better with three rows so she bought a 2012 :)

That should be a Buick Enclave ad. ;)

With only 1 vote for CX trim in the 2011 poll and none for the equivalent Base and Convenience trims in this 2012 poll, I wonder if GM will still offer a cloth seat base option for 2013?

CXL2 version because you only get to order a few vehicles from factory in your lifetime so you might as well order the best you can afford. Now the waiting, that's the hard part.
You are right. Always get the best that is affordable.

My wife HATES leather. She's a born n bred northerner who hates the weather in the south. For her, there's nothing worse than hot leather on the legs when she's wearing shorts (AND NO, YOU DON'T GET PICS) so cloth was our only option. That left us with Base or Convenience as the only viable options. Once she picked her color, it was all about finding either of those models that a local dealer could trade for. Turns out there was a convenience package about 110 miles away.
