If it's a 2014 battery it's long past due to fail.

 

was the original battery. and there was no handle on top of it making it a PITA to get out of the floor. Broke the dang vent tube fitting putting the new one in. need to get a Dorman replacement fitting now. stupid

 

Next time use vice grips on each battery terminal to lift it out. I only learned this 3 days after summoning angry dad strength to hork mine out using nothing but my fingertips and rage. Made sure the replacement battery had handles.

 

My first job while still in high school was for an old farmer. He showed me a trick for moving a battery. Tie a small loop in one end of a piece of string slightly larger than a battery terminal, then moving about a foot down the string tie another loop again slightly larger than the battery terminal force both loops down over each terminal one loop on the positive and one loop on the negative.

The foot of string between the loops is now a handle. Obviously you want a somewhat heavier string, being a farmer he used baler twine because farmers have lots of that around. I’ve used that trick on several handle less batteries over the years.
