Driver's sun visor mirror cover loose

Beginning a few months ago, the cover for the driver's visor mirror has become loose. When I pull down the visor to block sunlight, the mirror cover tends to dangle a bit away from the mirror as if a spring to hold the cover closed has weakened or broken. Has anyone encountered this issue? If so, is there a way to repair the problem workout replacing the visor?

I Noticed that right in the middle of the cover- where the hinges are..
theres some type of little foam insert.. I think its foam--

and I wondered-- that little foam there to make it 'tight'... anti rattle?

Thanks for responding. The issue is pretty minor, but if there is a quick and easy (read convenient and cheap) way to fix the visor mirror cover I would have the repair done. If not, I will continue to ignore it.

I will try to create a visual. Imagine pulling the visor down and then pushing it all the way toward the windshield. In that position, the visor's mirror cover will be facing somewhat downward. Lately, when the visor is positioned as such, the mirror cover no longer stays closed. Instead, it partly opens and dangles a bit.

Ah, That sucks.

Mine has been doing this for a couple months now. What was your fix? Still checking if covered under warranty.

Gold....you are just looking at yourself too much in the mirror....you wore it out. :D. Oh crap, is this considered "breaking a mirror"....and should you worry about 7 years bad luck? :scared:

Velcro  Had this issue on the Bonneville I use to own. Now my Lesabre is doing it. Aside from spending $100 per visor, velcro is a cheap alternative and would still allow use of it.

The best answer yet. :thumb: None of the rest of us came up with this simple, yet perfect idea. :-[

This is a great idea! A very small piece would work well. Thanks! :thumb:

I have a different but related problem. My driver's side visor is extremely loud when moving it either to block the sun, or back into resting position. It makes a terrible plastic on plastic or plastic on metal sound. Loud enough that if my three year old were in the back seat sleeping, it would wake her up. I think the only solution is buying a new visor. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
