Rbarrios, your original post here is gonna come in handy for me, hopefully this Saturday - if all my parts come in by Friday. Still waiting on plugs and coils. Thank you BIG time!

You've piqued my curiosity...
If it goes anything like my light bulb shorting out fuses and relays 2 summers ago, I may end up towing it to the shop for them to finish it.

Received all the parts, Gonna be a busy day tomorrow.... Serpentine belt, intake manifold gasket, ignition coils, spark plugs, transmission fluid, rear transmission module fluid, oil change, oil filter, air filter. Not tackling the O2 sensor(s). :jaw:

Did you get a loaner car scheduled for the day? ;D

No. I don't(hope) think that I will need one. :binky:

I hope not. But if you do, I wouldn't hesitate to file a complaint if you do not offer yourself one. :D
Is that a catch-22 or an oxymoron or just me being a plain 'ol moron ??? :hilarious:

Good luck! It's a nice feeling when it's done. Our cars have two transmissions (rear)? :drunk: I wish I had the time to pull out my ABS pump, not sure if next weekend or the one after that...dude sent me the software for Monday delivery. I said to my buddy, maybe I should get another BMW since I have the tools and software to work on it--he said, um, don't do that (and he has a BMW and Audi--with the Audi he went through the > $500 for a new battery routine, and the 3 qts. consumption between oil changes is normal on his wife's 2.0T).

Please fill us in on the tranny fluid, my gut is that I might pay the stealer to do it since they have the machine. But the other piece is I don't trust them to do the actual work, which brings me back to the DIY possibility...also what is going on with your coils...

edit: insert thumbs up emoticon, not sure why it was laughing....lol

Well, started to work on the things at 7:30. Got the appearance cover off, got scared and said NO WAY.... HA!! Got ya' April Fools.

Ok. So pulled the intake manifold, i had the LOWER MANIFOLD GASKET(wrong) - instead I needed the 2 piece UPPER MANIFOLD GASKET. Had to call several part places to find the 2 piece set. Weird thing is, the original set that I took out were aluminum, the new set I put in were like a pressed cardboard with rubber coating for the seals.
Pulled the Ignition coils(Replaced with ACDelco D515C) & plugs(Replaced with ACDelco 41-107) and replaced torque to 13 ft lb on the plugs.
Since I already had the hose from the air filter box to the throttle body out of the way, I checked the air filter, 5,000 miles and clean as a whistle. Put at box all back together.

Getting that intake manifold in/out is a big pain in the A$$. Those 2 back long bolts are not easy to maneuver into their bolt hols in the intake and clear the rear upper engine compartment cowling edge. Got it seated after struggling with it for 20 minutes or so it seemed. Torqued bolts to 17 ft lb. Put back all the emmissions tubing, purge valve, wiring connections etc. Fired it up, NO CODES!

Changed the oil, changed the oil filter.

Checked the transmission fluid dipstick level, was low. Drained the front transmission fluid, got 4 qt's out, it took 4-3/4 back in until it read in the middle of the XXX marks on the dipstick.

Didn't get to the rear transmission module, maybe next weekend.

Jacked up the front left, Took the front left wheel off. Tried to access the serpentine belt thru the front left wheel well skin, couldn't see what rbarrios was talking about thru the liner unless it is different on the Traverse. Looked at, stared at, tried to get a socket on the tensioner pulley, Gave up and put it all back together. Didn't get that done.

Finished by 4:30. The "Cherry-Ot" runs quieter(might be my imagination), definately runs/seems smoother and peppier. Not as sluggish. :)

Needless to say, well worth all the effort, saving $$$ by not having the "stealership" do all this work, and time to spend with my Dad, who did go thru the roof finding out that the intake manifold needed removed to do spark plugs, and that it's a $#!++Y design.

Did you also do the "Transfer Case"?
Unfortunately no. Didn't have the 75w90. All else went well. Now that I have done all of it, I feel more comfortable doing ityself, than I did going into it initially. Just wish I knew the best way to do the serpentine belt. ....
